ANNOUNCING OUR FIFTH ANNUAL RIDE
Join us and the Hometown Heroes staff of St Johns County for our fifth annual, police-escorted Hometown Hero’s benefit ride to honor local families of military, law enforcement, and first responders. This year’s ride will be held on [new date to be determined].
Each year, we select a Northeast Florida family to honor and benefit through our partner, Builders Care, and other partnering nonprofits that serve veterans, military personnel, emergency responders, and law enforcement. 2026 Honoree is to be announced.
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL HEROES
Through your contributions we have been able to assist over 25 Veterans and
emergency first responders in zero cost construction needs. Along with vocational
tools and assets to help them battle the war against PTSD. Our commitment is to
continue to grow that number.

OUR 2025 HONOREE
Sergeant Wilbur
Roy Wilbur, a lifelong St. Johns County resident and decorated US Marine Sergeant, embodies the spirit of service. Growing up in a large family of 16 siblings, Roy learned the importance of community and sacrifice early on. Earning two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars, Roy’s actions in Vietnam were marked by exceptional courage. Severely wounded during the war, he was medically retired in 1970 and now lives as a 100%
disabled Veteran.
Sergeant Wilbur’s bravery in combat is heroic enough as is, but Roy’s greatest act of service was yet to come.
When a young family member faced insurmountable challenges, Roy stepped in without hesitation, welcoming two-month-old April into his home. On that day, April became his world, and he sacrificed his needs to make sure every need of his daughter’s was met. Roy also instilled discipline and love for serving others in her which inspired her to
become a member of the St. Johns Sheriff’s Office, and that inspiration has now been
passed to her son, D’John, who is also a St. John’s County Officer.
Due to the overwhelming community response, we exceeded the 2025 goal. Thank you for your continued support. We are able to completely remodel Roy’s home top to bottom. No band-aids. Done the only way we know how. The right way. What he and is family deserves.

RIDE WITH US
We welcome individual riders and their passengers to join us for a ride around Northeast Florida, which will start at 11:00 and concludes around 12:30 or 1:00 PM. The ride is escorted by dozens of local law enforcement officers, who ride in solidarity and for our safety.
To cover the costs of the escort services, as well as to benefit Builders Care, there is a $25.00 fee per rider, with a suggested passenger donation of $20.00, which also purchases an event tee-shirt.
SUPPORT LOCAL HEROES AND THEIR FAMILIES
Since our first ride in 2022, we have supported first responders, military veterans, and law enforcement families who have made sacrifices for our freedom and safety.
